Doppler Broadening and Line-of-sight Effects in Core-collapse Supernovae and Young Remnants

Abstract The dynamics and spectral characteristics of supernova ejecta reveal details the energetics, explosive nucleosynthesis, evolution progenitor. However, in practice, this important diagnostic information is only derived from CCD-resolution X-ray spectra shock-heated material. If were to be observed at higher resolution, then clues explosion energetics would obvious through measurements bulk Doppler motions turbulence ejecta. Likewise, unshocked supernovae young remnants are responsible for obscuring emission on back side remnant. In light these effects, we present line-of-sight maps core-collapse remnant models. We explore broadening lines, including effects. also time-dependent absorption both shocked Finally, discuss how future missions such as XRISM Athena will able resolve effects nearby extragalactic their remnants.
